| Elks Student of the Month | Each month the Elks of Van Wert sponsor two students of the month. This is based on community service/volunteerism. No other criteria. The student of the month and parents are invited to a breakfast in May and receive a small scholarship. One student out of that group receives an additional scholarship and then goes on to the pool for a $1,000 district scholarship.
